Assisted Living

Care Is Easier Than Ever!

At The Summit Assisted Living, our emphasis is on living.  In all that we do, our goal is to help you live a full, engaged, comfortable lifestyle. Here you’ll find an amazing community set on 143 beautiful acres, where you can set your own pace.  From playing cards to painting to excercising, there is a full calendar of events both on and off campus from which to choose.

You’ll also find an environment tailored specifically for you and your family. Because of the variety and quality of services we offer, we can customize a program to you and your needs. Our friendly, experienced staff can provide you with as much as or as little assistance as you need with both routine activities and special needs. We are available 24 hours a day if you need us.

We do a lot for our residents so they can enjoy life.

Our monthly events calendar has something for everyone from the creative to the cognitive, sensory to spiritual, and some just good fun. The state may have minimum requirements, but our full-time nationally certified activities director is all about living The Summit’s high standards and going above and beyond. (She’s also a licensed Zumba instructor and teaches modified Zumba for residents.)

All that energy and pride is evident in the events planned to meet each resident’s needs, which she knows from meeting and talking with every one of them. If you have an interest, there will be an event for you!

Here is a just sample of recent events:

  • Brain games with our version of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune
  • Daily exercise could be from a chair, a walk outdoors, beach ball volleyball, or in a Certified Yoga class
  • Music from singalongs to church groups, soloists, and a popular local Elvis impersonator
  • Fun groups for bridge, dominoes, and around town lunches
  • Special events like birthday bashes, pet therapy visits, pumpkin contests, and themed lunches such as a 50s Diner, Luau, and Country Hoedown
  • Cooking events, ceramics, painting, scrapbooking, and gardening
  • Worship services, devotion and prayer groups
  • Weekly outtings to places like The Peaks of Otter, D-Day Memorial, Lynchburg Museum, and Safari Park

Residents have their favorite events like Bingo, but we make sure to keep adding more variety and more fun. The family culture means staff and residents know and care for each other, and want this environment to be the best it can be.
